Do you know the taste of love? The feeling of disappearing into nirvana after eating just one spoon? Have you ever felt like your eyes were closed because of the deliciousness of what you just tasted? If your answer is yes, then you surely know what I am talking about, i.e. Biryani.

As a biryani lover, I must say a bad biryani can ruin a whole week. And finding a good biryani place is an enormous task in another city. I always face this problem when my soul craves biryani in a different city. Recently I was in Pune and the same thing happened to me. I visited almost all the Biryani places listed on the map within a month, and here are the top 13 I really liked.

So, if you are living in Pune or maybe traveling there, then this article is going to be your Biryani guide.

Gavran Chicken Biryani At SP’s Biryani House

    1. Gavran Chicken Biryani At SP’s Biryani House

When I was asking people as well as the web about the biryani places, many of them recommended to me the Sadashiv Peth’s Biryani house. According to the reviews, the Biryani house has been established there for a long time. It serves multiple types of Biryanis including chicken, prawns, mutton, and eggs. I have tried everything there and I must say that the place surely knows its way around some of the best comfort food in the town, especially the Gavran Chicken Biryani.

I strongly recommend you all to try the Garvan Chicken Biryani because the taste is just phenomenal. The pricing is also decent, it is just approx ₹650 for two people.

Location - SP’s Biryani House, 1472, Sadashiv Peth, Pune

    George Restaurant

    2. Mutton Biryani At George Restaurant

The other restaurant biryani lovers were strongly recommending was the George Restaurant, Mostly popular for serving delicious cuisines at pocket-friendly prices. I was there for the biryani and I had it and trust me, Biryanis at George will surely remind you of a biryani cooked by adding love from your mother, especially the Mutton Biryani. Trust your Biryani buddy and must try the Mutton Biryani there. You will love it.

The interiors of George Restaurant are basic, but hey, the food is absolutely delicious. Overall, this would be a perfect place for you to hang out with your friends and, yes, eat Mutton Biryani at a reasonable price. It can cost around ₹400 for one person.

    Nisarg Pune

    3. Prawns Biryani At Nisarg

I am not a big fan of Prawns Biryani, but Nisarg’s Prawns Biryani might change my perspective. The place is famous for its delicious seafood, but I preferred the Biryani. If you haven’t tried Prawn Biryani you should and you Pune people have already got a place to try it.

The Biryani there might cost you around ₹1,300 for two people. You must try it once.

Location - Nisarg, 6/1, Opposite Padale Palace, Nalstop, Erandwane, Pune

    Marrakesh Pune

    4. Murg Dum Biryani At Marrakesh

Another place that I tried and found beautiful for Biryani in Pune is Marrakesh. It has 13 outlets in Pune, the most popular ones are at FC road and Baner. And If you are going there (which you should) you must try their Murg Dum Biryani and Gosht Dum Biryani, it’s a treat to the tongue. The place also has some boneless which you might try. Along with all that, you must try dishes from their Mughlai selection and the Shwarmas. I personally liked them a lot.

If you are going there to get your Murg Dum or Gosht Dum Biryani, then I have to let you be aware of the pricing there, which according to me is very fair, i.e. around ₹700 for two people.

    Location - Multiple outlets.

    Tiranga Pune

    5. Chicken Biryani At Tiranga

The Tiranga is also another treasure among Pune’s Biryani places. They have multiple types of biryanis, including mutton, chicken, prawns, and many more. My personal pick would be the Chicken Biryani. Why? Try eating a spoon. You will have your answers.

The fun part about Tiranga is that they serve half-portion biryani for the foodies trying to control their weight. Although it won’t work like that, but yes.

The cost of biryani for two people there might be approx ₹700.

Sultan’z is one of the most popular joints in the city where one can go and indulge in some great Biryani. The Zahedan Biryani is their specialty and my favorite on their menu.
Besides their delicious Biryani, you must also try out their unique samosas. And by samosa, don’t think of them as your regular Aloo-filled samosa. They have quite a few variants, including Chicken Keema Samosa, Mocha Samosa, and more.

So, if you are planning to visit Sultan’s to get your Zahedan Biryani, then I have to let you be aware of the pricing there, which according to me is very fair, i.e. around ₹700 for two people.

Roghandaaz is a delivery outlet only. I ordered one chicken and one egg biryani from there and it made me order the egg biryani from there again. I enjoyed the food from that place, paired it with Netflix, and my evening was wonderful.

Another bonus suggestion order yourself their tandoori appetizers along with the Biryani and you will thank me later.

The biryani might cost you around ₹600 for two people.

    Spice Culture

    8. Prawn Biryani At Spice Culture

The Spice Culture is a multi-cuisine, but it does justice for the Biryani. It serves Chinese, Italian, and Continental food there but also whips up lip-smacking Biryani. I personally loved the Prawn Biryani and you must try it. It might cost you around ₹700 for two people.

After trying biryani, here you are also gonna do ‘Tareef’ (praise) about Qabil-E-Tareef. The place not only has a great ambiance because of its beautiful decor and lighting, but the food is just fabulous. I would suggest going for the Surmai Dum Biryani because it is the best there. The combination of seafood with the Mughlai spices surely does the job. I wasn’t able to stop myself even when I was full.
